Column Slip Rings

New column type slip rings require very detailed attention and communications with customers especially for retrofitting or replacements in existing equipment such as electrically operated cranes and large industrial production equipment. Main power feed rings generally carry 50 to 1000 Amps for 3 phase current in the general range of 208 to 460 Volts with the electrical rating provided for each specific use. The number and rating of each of the power distribution rings is also specifically provided for new slip ring units.
Our column slip rings utilize standard type brushes allowing for easy service, if ever needed. Two or more brush blocks are provided on each conductor ring to provide high reliability, prevention of any arcing and generous Amp rating to provide for surge or start up current loads. Brushes are provided with constant force springs to insure continuous and correct brush pressure necessary for maintaining the full current capacity for each conductor ring in the column unit.
Cranes and other equipment subject to lightning strikes should have specific protection as slip rings and other electrical components may be subject to serious damage from this cause. Weather resistant enclosures or cabinets should be provided for outdoor installation for appropriate protection from the elements.
Our products are made in the U.S.A. to provide efficient communications and good working relationships with our customers. In certain instances, on-site inspection of equipment needing a replacement or retrofitted slip ring may be needed, however most information can be efficiently handled by phone and email communications.
Production lead time varies with the specific requirements of each column slip ring, however is generally in 12 to 16 weeks after completion of design requirements. Slip ring refurbishment varies with the level of work to be done.
A careful review of all technical aspects of the slip ring unit to include wire harness requirements are confirmed with our customer prior to production after order placement. Our slip ring products are designed and built to provide many years of efficient, trouble-free service.
