Standard SlipRing Rotating Electrical Connector

Available soon: a standard "off the shelf" 3 conductor self-contained slipring rotating electrical connector for a wide variety of general purpose uses. Current capacity is 10 Amps at 110 V.A.C. and is ideal use in rotating store displays, turntables, research projects, commercial products or anywhere a rotating electrical connection is needed.

The slipring body is gray electrical grade PVC 3.5 inches (90 mm) in diameter with a length of 1.8 inches (46 mm) to include the standard hollow shaft extending from the body by .5 inch (13 mm). Color coded "in" wires extend 12 inches (300 mm) from the top of the enclosure with the "out" wires extending out from the rotating hollow shaft. Either end of the slipring can be used for the fixed position. The slipring rotating electrical connector is weather resistant if installed vertically with the rotation joint facing down.

The essential product features are low cost, rugged construction, no mercury content and stock availability. The hollow shaft provides enough bore clearance for a mounting bolt, mounting on a through shaft, or for pass-through wiring such as "stacking" additional sliprings on a common shaft for more electrical channels. Although the slipring is not intended to operate in a load bearing capacity, it will bear several pounds as a thrust or radial load at moderate speeds. The operational speed is designed for up to 200 R.P.M., faster rotation on a momentary basis such as with servo motor movements is accommodated.

A wide number of custom options at modest cost can be supplied for wire harness length, wire connectors, shaft length, shaft set screws, mounting plates with bolt holes, alternate "out" wire routing for full I.D. shaft clearance of .55 inch (14 mm), tandem sliprings on a common shaft for counter rotating power, plus other options to meet specific use requirements. Let us know what you need.

This slipring is available in quantities from single rotating electrical connector units to high volume production quantities providing significant unit cost savings.
